Dr.Ahmad Izadpanah is a professor of general surgery at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, and the chief of colorectal surgery ward. He has been practicing in this field since 1987 and been the head of Fars General Surgens Association for 12 years now. During his career he has been the head of Shiraz General Hospital, Yasudj General Hospital, and the head of Colorectal Surgery Department at Shiraz Medical Sciences University. He is certified by the Iranian board certification.

Following graduation from Shiraz Medical School in 1979, he completed his internship and General Surgery Residency at this school in 1984. In addition to being a fellow of Colorectal Surgery at Cleveland Clinic in the USA (2001-2002), he completed a course in Hepatobiliary Surgery in England (1992) and a course in colorectal Surgery at Royal hospital in Australia (2006).

He is a member of Iranian Surgeons Association, Iranian Colorectal Association, European Colorectal Association, American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, American Society of Alimentary Tract Surgeons, Asian Federation of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Asian association of ostomy, European Society of Coloproctalogy

Dr. Izadpanah is highly experienced in colorectal malignencies, surgery for IBD, anal diseses and incontinence. He has also performed Pancreas transplantation for the first time in Iran in addition to invention of a device for destruction of scolices and treatment of hydatid cyst, and a device for Electrotherapy of hemorrhoids in Iran.

He has published 23 papers and 3 books in the fields of surgery, burns and disease, and attended many conferences, fifteen of which he has been the president.
