Dr.Homeira Vafaei is the head of medical council of shiraz and perinatology(Maternal-Fetal Medicine ) division as well as Hafez hospital vice chancellor for education and a faculty member of Maternal-Fetal Medicine research center.
She performed the first Fetal Myelomeningocele repair and Fetal heart surgery ( fetal pulmonary valve stenos is balloon dilation ) in the Middle east with fetal surgery team at Shiraz University of medical sciences.
She also performed the first Fetal Myelomeningocele Repair and Fetal heart surgery (fetal pulmonary valve stenos is balloon dilation )in the Middle East with fetal surgery team at Shiraz university of Medical sciences.
She has performed 1770 Amniocentesis , 128 CVS and considerable number of IUT , FBS, amniodrainge,selective Feticide on patients as well as 23716 sonography including NT, Anomaly, Growth, Uterine and Fetal Doppler ,BPP, TVS , and multiple pregnancies.
In addition , she has over 13 publications and been a speaker or an attendee in more than 54 conferences and seminars.
Dr. Homeira Vafaei graduated in obstetrics and gynecology specialty from Shiraz university of medical sciences. She is an assistant Professor of OB-Gyn at this university . She was a research fellow in Fetal Medicine at king’s college hospital in London and a research fellow in fetal cardiology and fetal Echocardiography. She has been also awarded the first place in the 50th national Iranian board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
She is certified in the following competencies:
ultrasound examination , cervical assessment , scan, fetal cardiac assessment and fetal echocardiography, fetal Doppler , placental Doppler from medicine Foundation (FMF) and certification of training in minimal access surgery Louis Pasteur university.
