Dr.Seyed Basir Hashemi As a Professor of Otolaryngology, is the vice chancellor for Research and Technology of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, head of Iran Cochlear Implantation Council, and member of Iranian ENT (ear, nose, and throat) Board.
He is also the head of Khalili hospital as well as its ENT department.

Following his graduation from Shiraz University, he received a fellowship in otology, neurology and cochlear implantation, and became specialized in otolaryngology and cochlear implantation.

With over 20 years of experience in his career, he has frequently performed cochlear implantations, otologic surgery, stapes surgery, endoscopic sinus surgery, and head and neck surgery. He is highly experienced in cochlear implantation (1300 operations so far) and hearing aid surgery,and was the first to perform them in south of Iran.
Having published over 60 research papers in several high quality journals, he has attended various international conferences and seminars, and supervised more than 60 students throughout their doctoral degree trainings.
