Dr. Mohamad Haghighat is a professor of Pediatrics at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, the head of Pediatric Department and pediatric gastroenterology division at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences.
He was the dean of Jahrom Medical School from 1986 to 1990, and the director of Nemazee Hospital from 1994 to 1997.
Following his graduation in 1982 from Medical School of Shiraz University, he completed his Internship at Shiraz University Hospitals. He then finished his pediatric residency at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. He ranked first in National Pediatric Board when he was the chief resident at Pediatric Department of Shiraz University in 1986

He was a fellow in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Tehran University of Medical Sciences from 1990 to 1992

His current membership insludes the following:

• Member of Iranian board of pediatric gastroenterology
• Member of Iranian Medical Council
• Member of Iranian society of Gastroenterology
• Member of Iranian Pediatric society of Gastroenterology

He has also been a member of Iranian National Board of pediatrics, Shiraz Medical Council, Medical Council Educational facilities, Education and Research committee at Shiraz University of Medical Science, planning and programming committee for Traditional Medicine

In addition to his authorship of 3 books in the field of Gastrointestinal diseases, he has published over 110 research papers, and attended over50 conferences.
