He is a Professor of ophthalmology at Shiraz University of Medical sciences (SUMS), head of Cornea, Cataract , and Refractive Surgery at Khodadoust Eye hospital in Shiraz , and head of the research of Chemical Ocular Warfare Injury Department, Center of Chemical Warfare Injury in Fars Province.
He is also the director of education and training program of medical students at SUMS Ophthalmology Department.

Following his graduation from SUMS as a M.D, he completed his specialty of ophthalmology, with honor, in Dept. of Ophthalmology at this university (1990-1994). He received Corneal Fellowship from this school afterwards

He was an assistant professor of ophthalmology at Sharekord University of Medicine, Sharekord, Iran (1994-1996), chief resident of Medical Students’ education and training at the SUMS Dept. of Ophthalmology(1990-1993), chief resident of ophthalmology ward at SUMS Dept. of Ophthalmology, Shiraz (1993-1994), and chief of Dastgheib hospital, Shiraz (1999-2002)

He obtained the certification of International Council of Ophthalmology in 2001 and certification of Corneal Fellowship, Melbourne University, Australia (2000-2003)

He is a member of Medical Council of Iran, European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, as well as Iranian Society of Ophthalmology ,and has published over 36 research papers.
